Olive farming is not just economically important in the West Bank — it is culturally important as well. Many of the olive trees on Equal Exchange's producer partners' farms hold an almost sacred significance for them. I just returned from my first visit to Israel and never realized the olive oil I use is from Palestinian olive farmers.
