Just over 10 years ago, we embarked on a mission to revolutionize the food system and provide an alternative to the traditional supermarket. Driven by our passion for sustainability, accessibility, and overall health and wellness, we set out to create a whole foods system that reconnects families with local farmers.
Over time, we found families, small businesses, and farmers that share our core values. We have grown from 28 interested foodies to over 1,900 participating partner families in just a decade. These families trust us to carefully select foods from small-scale, regional farmers and producers and deliver high-quality food, year-round, right to their doorsteps.
Our grocery delivery offerings are updated every Friday, and we carry over 700 delicious items including award-winning cheeses and bottled milk from pasture-raised cows, humanely-raised fresh meats, just-baked bread (including gluten-free artisanal bread!), the freshest veggies, and a wide selection of fun and tasty pantry items that are sure to get you cookin'.
To minimize potential food waste, we only purchase what is necessary to fill orders for the coming week. Any leftovers that remain at the end of the week are donated to the local food shelves, with food scraps composted and put back into the earth.
The majority of our food is sourced from within 200 miles of our Central Vermont home base, with a selection of other items brought in from sustainable farms that share our values. Your food doesn't have far to travel and passes through less hands, keeping it fresher and keeping our carbon footprint low. We intentionally partner with small-scale farms that align with the principles of regenerative agriculture, which improves the interdependent health of our soil, land, and people. We pride ourselves in our consciously selected offerings and make it our mission to pay our farmers a fair price for their produce.
At Farmers to You, we believe that every person has an innate right to nutritious, health-supporting meals. We are committed to helping alleviate food insecurity in our community, and thanks to the incredible support of our partner families, we have donated over $6,000 in food each month to families in need.
As our final step in combatting the unsustainable practices of chain grocery stores and global food delivery systems, we strive to use only low-impact packaging in our deliveries. Your food is packaged conscientiously, with reduced plastic use and reused packing materials whenever possible.
Shop our online farmers market with ease until midnight every Sunday. We offer local doorstep delivery, or you can pick up your order in person at one of our neighborhood pickup sites in Greater Boston. Many of our pick-up site hosts have been partnering with us for years and have become part of the Farmers to You family.
