Free Verse Farm Mint and Lemons Tea
Mint and Lemons Tisane Blend (herbal tea) is a simple blend of lemon balm, lemon verbena and mint. This naturally caffeine free tea is excellent hot or iced with lemon slices and a bit of honey for a cooling, herbal iced tea.
Lemon Verbena, Lemon Balm, Mint
Though we refer to Free Verse Farm’s herb blends as herbal tea, a more accurate term might be Tisane. The french term for “herbal infusion,” Tisanes are distinct from teas in that they don’t include the true tea plant, Camellia sinensis, which is the source for caffeinated white, green and black teas. Tisanes are naturally non-caffeinated and can be grown in our region, unlike the tea plant, which prefers a more tropical climate. Free Verse is a small herb farm and apothecary located in Chelsea, Vermont. Started by Misha, a photographer and herbalist, and Taylor, a poet and pickler, Free Verse Farm harvests their herbs by hand and dries them right on the farm. They note that "nothing is more satisfying, nourishing, and potent than herbs tended with loving care."

This is a very pleasant tea that isn't too minty or "grassy." I like it with honey when I have a cough as it encourages me to drink more liquids when I'm sick and feeling cold and too much caffeinated tea isn't good.
