This is a linked maple breakfast sausage. The classic combination of sweet maple syrup and warming, savory spices are present but not overpowering.

If you plan to cook this up within the week keep it in the fridge. If you are not sure then go ahead and freeze it. Thaw slowly in cool water before cooking.
I ordered these for the first time this week, and I just had one with my scrambled eggs. OMG This is amazing sausage. The maple is *just* right -- definitely there but not overpowering. Same with the spices. I have carefully wrapped the other three sausages and frozen them for special breakfasts in the future. What a treat!
Erika of Babette's Table makes this sausage for Snug Valley Farm, our pork supplier in Hardwick Vermont. Ben at Snug Valley raises his pigs outdoors on pasture supplemented with grain and whey. This makes for very flavorful and nicely textured meat.
