These breakfast patties are perfect for a quick and easy breakfast sandwich, or serve alongside pancakes and drizzle with maple syrup. Lightly sweet and subtly seasoned with savory, warming spices. This is a pack of six, 2 ounce breakfast sausage patties.
If you plan to cook this up within the week keep it in the fridge. If you are not sure then go ahead and freeze it. Thaw slowly in cool water before cooking.
We love this sausage for breakfast sandwiches. The thin patties cook evenly and we cook the eggs in the remaining drippings.
I haven't had trouble with the paper once I started taking off the patty and paper together and then removing the paper. But we easily go through patties within a week so I've never tried removing patties from a frozen pack.
This is a great family palate pleasing sausage that is not too spicy or "interesting" but is very flavorful and reliable. I agree the packaging is challenging but I don't really have better ideas that would involve any less waste or more ease.
My teenage son & husband liked it (I don't eat meat). Apparently, separating the patties with a spatula worked well.
The sausage gets six stars by the review gets 4 because of the packaging.
As far as the sausage, it is one of my favorites so far from FTY. Perfect balance of fat to meat, and not too spicy. Patties are also nice and thin, so unlike links, you don't have to worry about whether it is cooked through.
However, I hate the packaging. When frozen, it's impossible to pry apart the patties despite the paper in between. When thawed, the meat sticks to the paper so you have to scrape it off and stick it back onto the patty. I know it's probably way too much labor, but the ideal would be individually frozen patties thrown into a ziplock bag, then we can keep it in the freezer and just take out what we want to eat at each meal.
