Reds Best dayboat scallops are easy to cook and very versatile. They are never brined or soaked to add water weight, so they brown nicely and shrink very little. Pan seared scallops are a restaurant favorite, and local chefs prefer our dayboat product for this preparation.

Red's Best Scallops and Fillets are wild caught and never frozen or processed (other than cutting and packing). They are fresh caught on the Sunday or Monday preceding your order and best enjoyed within five days or they can be frozen. To thaw fish that has been frozen, place in a sealed bag in a bowl of cool water. Allow at least a day to thaw prior to cooking. Depending on the size and cut of fish, thawing times may vary.
Each week Red's Best's fishermen will offer us what they expect to be fresh off of their partner boats.
This fish and shellfish is extremely fresh and literally right off of their small boats. All fish are caught using small scale sustainable methods such as hook and line and small gill nets, so that ocean and fish stock damage is minimized. This ensures a sustainable future of quality fish for us, for the fisherman and the communities they live in.

I had pretty much given up on scallops after one too many disappointing experiences (grit, tastelessness, weird texture, watered down, etc.), until today. After reading all the good reviews of these scallops, I took a chance, and my partner and I both exclaimed that these were the best scallops we've ever tasted. I sautéed them in a bit of butter, and they caramelized beautifully. They were sweet and rich and didn't shrink up like so many water-inflated scallops on the market today. Bonus: no sand! Truly, these scallops are perfection, and I'm already looking forward to next week's order!
These scallops are SUPERB! I don't think I've ever bought as delicious ones myself - only had something similar in a restaurant. So sweet & fragrant & lovely in just a little oil, garlic & white wine. Love them!!
Delicious, easy to prepare. Sustainable seafood, I recall. In cooler months, we do not worry about rushing them to the fridge.

I cooked these an hour after I picked them up and oh my goodness! They were fantastic! I just rinsed and patted them dry, sprinkled some salt, and browned them in a mixture of Ghee (I got it here a couple of weeks ago) and EVOO. I then removed the scallops and sautéed some shallot (also from FtoY yesterday), garlic, more ghee, and some white wine to create a delicious light sauce. Amazing!!! I'll definitely be getting them again.

These scallops are consistently outstanding. I get them most weeks and it helps us to stay out of restaurants and eat home. Really delicious, really fresh, and incredibly easy to prepare.
