As long as we can remember, the spring is a time of renewal and optimism. After a long winter in New England, the signs of spring raise our spirits. To state the obvious, this spring feels different.
At Farmers To You we know that right now your food decisions are as important as ever. We are grateful and humbled by your trust in us. In this difficult time, we continue to make decisions based on our care and commitment to you, the farmers we work with, and our staff. We’d like to provide an update on what’s happening at Farmers To You, and what steps we are taking to keep all of us safe, healthy and well-fed
In times like these I ask myself – why is this happening? I know there must be a reason.
Yesterday, I was given an answer to this very question by a number of people both at Farmers To You and in my community. I’m calling them my heroes. The pharmacist’s aid, the guy at the transfer station, our incredible crew both here in Vermont and in Boston – these are all my heroes. These selfless heroics, invisible to most, are keeping us safe and healthy and are supporting the most important aspects of a healthy world
I am humbled by what we have built together — an essential Regional Food Partnership that is showing its strength and resilience in these difficult times. As we come together to feed and support each other in this time of real need, I am filled with pride in our community.
It brings me joy to report to our entire community what a wonderful year we have just finished. Never perfect – always room for improvement – but wonderful nonetheless.
