Shallots are delicate and sweet, but also rich and complex. Ahhhh, the allium of all alliums! They add tremendous flavor to any dish, like a mild onion with a hint of garlic.
Store in a cool, dark, dry place.
Shallots may resemble onions, but they grow, like garlic, in clusters, which is why they reveal bulbs rather than rings when you cut into them.

Very fresh, but very strong, almost more oniony. Was looking for a more mild flavor from shallots.
We order shallots almost weekly. They are great in salad dressings. We also fry them in some oil to make crispy, then you can add them as topping to pasta, scalloped potatoes, eggs, just about anything!
