Goldballs are an exceptional and rare turnip treat. The flavor is sweet, mellow and smooth and they are a lovely sunny color. For a delicious, lustrous dish, try them mashed with butter and shallots.

These are delicious. I don't often cook with turnips, but these sounded so special, and they are! Two lbs is also a lot of turnips, so after I made a beef stew with lots of root vegetables, and then made a turnip stew with loads of lemon dill. Both dishes were excellent.
