This roasted Pumpkin Seed Oil is 100% pure varietal oil made from oilseed pumpkins grown in upstate New York. The oil has a rich brown color and makes a wonderful complement to grilled vegetables, roasted fish, or sautéed leafy greens. Try on fresh pasta or squash soup for a rich, distinctive alternative to olive oil.
Store in a cool, dark place. Most flavorful if consumed within 2 months of opening.
Flavor profile: savory, sesame, roasted mushrooms, pistachio. Smoke point is 250 degrees, so avoid high heat.
Oil has a unique pumpkin seed taste and is fantastic on salads and breads. Lately, I use it as a dipping sauce for naan and other flatbreads. Definitely use this to "finish" a dish and do not actually cook with it since it has a low smoke point (treat it like sesame oil or a good EVOO).
This is fabulous, dark and flavorful.
