Tamarack VT Sheep Farm Grass Fed Ground Lamb
Ground lamb is an essential ingredient in much middle eastern and Mediterranean cooking. Lots of flavor and richness.
Enjoy within 5 days or freeze for later use.
Storage Tips
Farmers to You orders Tamarack Sheep Farm lamb by the whole animal and it arrives fresh to us every time it is ordered. On weeks when we receive a fresh lamb delivery you will receive cuts that are fresh, not frozen. On weeks when we do not receive a new order your lamb will be sent frozen to stop the aging process. Lamb begins the thawing process while en route to you and can continue the thawing process in your fridge and enjoyed within a week. Tamarack lamb can be refrozen if desired. To thaw meat that has been frozen, place in a sealed bag in a bowl of cool water. Allow at least a day to thaw your lamb prior to cooking. Depending on the size and cut of meat, thawing times may vary. Check the weekly bounty in our Friday Newsletter for fresh lamb updates.
Tamarack VT Sheep Farm, Corinth, VT
Tamarack's flock dates back to the 1920s and has been tended by the Manchin family since then. These animals are raised on grass and as naturally as possible. We have been looking for a quality lamb producer for some time and we are pleased to partner with Ben and his heirloom flock. He sells his lamb only to us and two restaurants (one in Boston and one in Burlington), so it is a very special treat indeed.

This ground lamb is really excellent quality. So delicious. We make Indian mutter dishes with it.

Very tasty, but I concur with another reviewer, a LOT of fat in these, so you'll lose quite a bit of it in the cooking process. I know that I have had ground lamb with other sources that didn't have this degree of fat.

Sorry, it was tasty but I'd estimate 50% fat. Too costly.

This ground lamb is SO flavorful! I used it to make shepherd's pie and it was wonderful! Use the other Farmers to You ingredients, such as potatoes, carrots, garlic and frozen corn to make this satisfying dish!
You can also make delicious lamb burgers!
