Strafford Organic Creamery, Strafford, VT

To quote Amy: "We make our ice cream in small batches, one day each week. We wouldn't dream of blending our cows' cream with anything but the highest-quality organic ingredients. We separate fresh eggs by hand, handpick the mint and black raspberries, grind the coffee just before we brew it into the milk, and basically work our tails off to make the best ice cream imaginable."
Certified Organic
Why does Strafford ice cream contain organic milk powder? Because it prevents ice crystals from forming, and keeps the ice cream smooth, creamy, and scoopable. The milk powder comes from Organic Valley, whose average farm size is 80 cows. Their ability to make milk powder when they have an oversupply is a key component in stabilizing the organic milk market; every piece of land kept in organic agriculture is a win for the planet!

WOW what fantastic creamy deliciousness! I used this with my dessert for Valentines Day, a heart shaped puff pastry shell with pastry cream and poached pears, a scoop of this wonderful ice cream and a drizzle of my maple caramel sauce.....YUM!!!

Wow! There's not much more I can say that wouldn't repeat the other reviews. My first reaction was to how rich and creamy it was, then the maple flavor hit and that made it amazing! Delicious!

This ice cream is fantastic. Very rich, very dense, very creamy. I will confess to putting maple syrup on top; gilding the lily is the way to go.
