A beautiful clear red skinned apple, this is one of the best early season heirlooms. For generations, this apple has been highly regarded as a dessert or fresh use apple, although it’s also very good in crisps and pies, as well as cider. It has a light plum or grape flavor, and pairs wonderfully with some aged Vermont cheddar.
