Storage Tips

Store in a cool, dry, dark place.

Maine Grains, Skowhegan, ME

Different from steam treated rolled oats where the enzymes have been denatured with steam heat for an extended shelf life, Maine Grain oats are dry rolled, preserving all of the nutrition inherent in the grain and intended to be eaten fresh.
Oats are a crop ideally suited to cool moist climates and Maine potato farmers have been growing oats for years. Oats are a beneficial addition to the farm ecosystem and a healthful addition to the human diet. Grown in Aroostook County, ME; these oats are a combination of the varieties AC Aylmer and Goliath hulled oats.
Maine Grains mission is to cultivate and deliver exceptional organic stone ground grains, which are locally grown and sourced. Through a unique stone-milling process, they are able to preserve nutritional content and improve the performance of their flour for natural fermentation baking.
Maine Grains Oats are processed in a facility that also processes wheat products and are not certified gluten-free.

I'm not usually a fan of oatmeal, but I do like these quite a lot. Especially good with dried dates and apricots cooked in.

These oats definitely have a more complex flavor than store brand oats. And they are from Maine so pretty local.

I had these oats a year ago at clover and finally found them on FTY and these are the only oats I am able to eat. Other oats no longer taste the same, Maine oats taste so good such quality and are really good to make oat milk.

I love the flavor of Maine Grains oatmeal. However, recently the oats have been full of husks, which I prefer not to eat, making for an unpleasant breakfast.

I ran out of my Maine Grains this week and had to make Quaker oatmeal. It paled by comparison. The Maine Grains are sweet and fresh and have a much better texture. I ordered two bags this week, so I won't run out again!
