Flavor-wise, they taste like cider donuts. Perfect for the Fall. A really nice flavor (although I wouldn't mind more apple).
Texture-wise, they're more like a muffin top. They're moister, richer. True scones are dense and drier. So they're still really good, but not quite scone-like.
If you're on the fence about these, BUY them. Not exaggerating when I say they're one of the best baked goods I've ever had. Not too sweet, but sweet enough; I didn't really taste the apple flavor which was totally fine, I didn't miss it. Bakes up very easily - very fluffy, and the edges get a little caramelized and crisp. Just under half an hour in the oven and they were absolute perfection. I'll be keeping these on hand in the freezer from now on!
We love their buttermilk biscuits, so we finally tried their scones. They bake up beautifully and are so delicious served warm with a bit of soft butter.

I was pleased that these scones baked up so nice and tasty. They easily doubled in size and were nice and moist. My kids loved them!
