These carrots average 4-5" long and have been gently brushed to remove some of their skin.
I was really surprised by these, given the positive reviews. For one thing, they didn't really taste like much other than slightly bitter- maybe that's because it's winter, but I've had better winter carrots from the grocery store. But also, in no way are these 'baby' or 'snacking' carrots. They weren't *long* but most of them were extremely thick and of about average carrot length. Not something you grab a handful of like traditional baby carrots. We ended up mostly just chopping them for cooking like any other carrot. Real bummer, these.
My kid gobbles these up with her lunch. They're fresh and sweet, unlike store-bought "baby" carrots they're not in water and not slimy, I mean, who wants slimy carrots?
So sweet- best carrots we've eaten!
Based on the only other review, I expected these to be spectacularly awesome. I found them merely okay. Yes, they were crunchy. But I have eaten more flavorful carrots with a more intense flavor. These weren't devoid of flavor, but the flavor was barely there. I suppose it could be due to the time of year, and my expectations could have been too high.
I absolutely LOVE Pete's Greens' mesclun mix, but while these carrots weren't bad, I wouldn't necessarily get them again, at least right now. Is there a time of the year when they'll be of better flavor (These are from late April)?
These are the best carrots we have ever tasted! Sweet, light, juicy, and crunchy. Nothing at all like the standard chlorinated baby carrots; these come from a different planet altogether. The perfect size for packing and snacking too.
