Since he left behind the life of a dairy farmer at age 16, co-owner and head chocolatier Erlé LaBounty has been crafting delicately balanced, old-world chocolate confections out of his home state of Vermont. Specializing in hand rolled truffles, LaBounty and co-owner Eliza La Rocca have since added chocolate covered, burnt butter salted caramels and six different varieties of chocolate bars to their carefully curated production lineup, all crafted with certified organic, fair trade, soy-free 70% and 85% chocolates.
The majority of ingredients (and 100% of any and all chocolates they use) are certified organic. Those ingredients that are not certified organic are thoroughly vetted and certified non-GMO. All of their products are also soy and corn syrup-free, and they are always as local as possible. Moreover, while co-packing (production at another, larger facility not owned or operated by the company) is something of a food industry standard, Farmhouse proudly produces everything themselves in Bristol, VT, a tiny town nestled against the Green Mountains.
