Simple, buttery and slightly salty. These beautiful artisanal crackers are based on an 1800's recipe by Josiah Bent from Massachusetts who wanted to make a lighter and thinner version of Hardtack- a soldiers' and seafarers' staple. They are all natural and GMO free and are mixed, rolled, baked and cracked by hand to create a beautiful, rustic looking cracker.
These crackers are shelf stable for up to ten months.
Castleton Crackers (founded by Whitney Lamy) partnered with Vermont Farmstead Cheese Company in 2013 after spending five years growing the company out of her Castleton, Vermont farmhouse kitchen. Together, they are the first artisanal cheese and cracker company in Vermont.
