These oats are sweet and hearty.
Store in a cool, dry, dark place.
This makes amazing oatmeal! I was even able to convert my normally oatmeal-averse husband.
I used Alton Brown's method for steel-cut oats (for which these can act as a 1:1 substitute), where you toast the oats in some butter before adding the cooking liquid. I used a 3:1 liquid ratio, with 1/3 of the liquid being milk. Makes a delightfully creamy cereal that doesn't need many accouterments to be delicious.
Excellent oatmeal. These oats make a delicious porridge. I did not soak them and used a 3-1 ratio of water to oats. I cooked them with dried cranberries and prunes. They hardly need any sweetener.
Perfect! These are much more useable for me then the previous ones. These are very very few hulls, none that I've even found so far. They also don't feel as dry compared to the bulk oats that I buy from a bin. They're not cut into little pieces but are truly cracked, some large whole grains, some small pieces and in between as well.
Similar to steel cut oats - these are not steamed or treated in any way, preserving all of the nutrition inherent in the grain and intended to be eaten fresh.
