Raw Organic Pumpkin Seeds

These seeds are the same pumpkin seeds used to make Stony Brook's roasted pumpkin seed oil, heirloom pepitas and maple pepitas. Grown in the Finger Lakes region of NY, these are an heirloom Austrian varietal that grows well in the region. Their raw seeds are dried at 140 degrees F immediately after harvest. The seeds are loaded with nutrients like Vitamin E, zinc, copper, manganese, magnesium, lutein and zeaxanthin. Seeds are dried at low temperatures to preserve the delicate fats and phytonutrients.
USA grown.

Stony Brook Wholeheartedfoods, Geneva, NY

Seeds can be sprinkled on your cereal, yogurt or soups, used as an alternative to nuts such as walnuts or peanuts, or as a locally-grown replacement for pine nuts in pesto.
Stony Brook works directly with New York farmers to source seeds directly following the fall harvest. With a commitment to local sourcing they aim to support local production and promote environmental and economic health in the Finger Lakes region. Over a decade after they started, Stony Brook Wholeheartedfoods is still the only company in the U.S. producing culinary oil from vegetable seed waste, and one of the only regional producers of culinary oils using 100% USA grown seeds.
