Zohar Arama, Yalla's Israeli-born founder, grew up in a Greek-Yemeni household with a mother who was always planning the next meal; collecting recipes from neighbors and bringing the family of six together over food. Following the success of Zohar's farmers' market stand and then storefront in Brattleboro, he was joined by Chief "Hummist" Dan Seals to make their hummus more widely available. Yalla is Arabic for "COME ON", and the company exists to bridge communities and culture by way of the love and connection created by the family table. Yalla sources organic chick peas, tahini and navy beans for use in their amazing hummus.
