Rutabaga chopped, steamed and mashed with butter is one of winter's most wonderful treats - sweet, earthy, golden bliss.
Refrigerate, wrapped in a moist cloth or paper towel.
A hybrid between a turnip and a wild cabbage, rutabagas are sweet and juicy and much milder than their turnip cousins. Can add a complexity and sweetness to any soup or stew. Our rutabagas have not been dipped in wax, they will need to be refrigerated.
They ain't sexy but they're some-sorta-delish!...added to my stew...it's a marriage made in heaven!
