Farmer Ryan Voiland started farming when he was 12, in 1991, in his back yard in Montague, Mass. He immediately certified his field as organic with NOFA/Baystate Organic Certifiers, and thus became one of the first certified organic farms in Massachusetts. Organic is part of Red Fire Farm's core.
Sarah Voiland grew up in Stafford Springs CT, one of the most rural parts of that state. She started a small community supported agriculture farm called Down to Earth in her home town of Stafford on the land of a family friend. After meeting (and dating!) Ryan for a couple of years, Sarah decided to transfer Down to Earth’s management to other CSA members, and began working at Red Fire Farm in 2007.
Red Fire Farm produces a wide diversity of vegetables, flowers, fruit, and a high quality selection of vegetable and bedding plant flowers for home gardens, all grown in lush, well-tended Pioneer Valley soil.
