One of the most versatile vegetables of all time, Red Kale, also known as Purple Kale is highly nutritious, with dark frilly leaves and purple/red veins and stems. This variety holds up well in soups, or sauteed, and the coloring is quite stunning too.
Store in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.
This Kale is grown by Pete at Pete's Greens in Craftsbury, Vermont. Red kale is similar in flavor and texture to green kale, but adds a different dimension with it's rich, dark leaves.
This is the most flavorful kale ever--super fruity tasting.
It seems to have a less bitter flavor than the other green kale varieties - it is now my favorite type of kale!
