This Strawberry Preserve is thick and not too sweet. Please Note: it includes a very small amount of butter in the ingredients (cows milk).
Refrigerate after opening.
After careful stewardship of her fruit bushes and gardens, Norma Norris of Norris Berry Farm uses as little sugar as possible to make her award winning jams. She is proud of her jams and preserves, and attributes their outstanding flavor to the silty loamy soil that she grows on.
Really delicious but I wish it could be made with less sugar!
This jam is thicker, almost grainy, likely due to the butter, and delicate is the only word I can think of. I really only enjoyed it spread on a lighter wheat bread.
I normally put jam in yogurt, for a salad dressing, in my oatmeal and this just didn't do it for me. Definitely try it out and let me know if offering helpful comments or not.
I grew up on a diet where items like Smucker's Strawberry jam was commonplace, which this most definitely is not. That being said I've thoroughly enjoyed the other FarmersToYou food that is produced on a smaller scale.
Just in case you skip the fine print in the description, there is butter in this jam.
Which only makes this jam even more delicious! It has a bright strawberry taste, rather than a sugary too-sweet taste that most jams seem to have to me.
It pairs really well with the Mad River Grain bread. I could eat it for every meal!
