This steak comes from the triangular tri tip roast and is full of flavor. It has excellent marbling and is very tender as long as it is not overcooked. Tri Tip is built for grilling, but it can also be cooked in a hot skillet on the stovetop.

This turned out great

I got this steak this week and tried a cooking method I saw on a Weber gas grill video. It was to cook it on indirect heat for 45 minutes at 300°, then sear it at high heat on each side for five minutes, then let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing thinly and plating it.

Prior to all that, I marinated it over night in my own marinade.

It came out beautifully. Medium rare, it's not the tenderest cut, but it was not tough either. On the other hand, it was beautifully flavored. Everyone was raving about it.

I'm not sure, though, why the price went up $10 per package this week. ($29 to 39).
