Goat Milk Caramel

This farmstead caramel, the traditional Mexican confection known as Cajeta, is a unique and decadent sauce made from reducing goats milk with sugar until it forms a caramel.

Butterfly Bakery of Vermont, Barre, VT

Based on the Mexican confection, cajeta, Fat Toad's caramel sauce is created by mixing fresh goat's milk with pure cane sugar in traditional copper kettles. The caramel is carefully boiled and hand-stirred to velvety perfection over the course of five hours creating a scrumptious topping for ice cream, fruit, and other desserts. Fat Toad's award winning caramel is made in small batches using fresh, local goat's milk from the Ayers Brook Goat Dairy, run by Vermont Creamery.

This caramel is delicious; it does have a subtle goat milk taste but not as strong as I would have expected. However, I wish Farmers To You carried the salted bourbon flavor; having tried original, salted bourbon, cinnamon, & spicy dark chocolate, I think salted bourbon is by far the best flavor.

I did not like this product. I could not get past the strong goat milk under taste.

I LOVE Fat Toad Farm's goat milk caramel. Three simple ingredients become a smooth deliciousness.

This caramel tastes pretty good but has a very strong goat cheese aftertaste, which I personally don't enjoy. If you like the tang of goat cheese with your sweet caramel, then you might like this.

I had to really discipline myself not to just eat it all up right out of the jar. Dip some crisp tart apple slices in this - heaven!

This is the tastiest stuff imaginable! Drizzle it over apple and your children are certain to lick their plates! My very picky eater begs to eat this by the spoonful.
