Hakurei salad turnips are sweet, succulent, tender and crispy. The texture of the turnip is smoother than radish and the flavor is mild. Great for dipping or adding to salads raw, or roast them up and enjoy their buttery flavor. This is a bag of loose turnips, with no greens.
Store wrapped in a damp towel or plastic bag in the refrigerator.
These are not the average turnip. This variety is vastly different from the classic purple top and is absolutely delicious raw or cooked.
So sweet you can eat them raw. Or wash the greens, slice the turnips and saute them both with garlic, salt and pepper for a spring treat.
