These are delicious in every way! Crunchy, nourishing, and delectable in salads, sandwiches or just sprinkled on anything!
These have become a winter staple at our house. I add them whole to stir fry dishes. When chopped, they make a good garnish or additional ingredient for almost everything. I add them to soups, egg or chicken salad, or sandwiches.
My favorite shoots are the sunflowers. They have a delicate, carrot-like flavor and last over a week.
I've cut these up and mixed them (with chopped onions) in a corn and/or chick pea salad -- the sprouts add color and flavor to a salad that might otherwise be boring. One person told me she normally doesn't like sprouts in salad but that these had a gentler flavor.
We are ordering these every week for winter salads. They go a long way and have a lovely refreshing flavor...great in sandwiches too!
