Watermelon radishes are a fall treat. They are beautifully colored and get their name from their color and pattern when you cut them in half, and they taste wonderfully refreshing; not too spicy, crisp and juicy.
Store in a plastic bag in the refrigerator.
These radishes are a slightly larger variety. The exterior is white with light green shoulders, and the interior a deep pink. Mildy flavored with a hint of pepper they are delicious raw.

I roasted these with a bit of onion and they refreshing as odd as that sounds. The bite of a radish without the unpleasant burn. I ate them raw for a while but then wasn't going through them fast enough, hence the roasting. The pictures don't really do them justice either, they look very nice when laid out.
