Thyme is a diverse aromatic similar in flavor and aroma to oregano and savory. This fragrant herb has dark green leaves on a woody stem and often a hint of purple on the underside of the leaves. Grown by Julie at Red Wagon Plants, whose masterful growing and culinary skills shine in the outstanding flavor and quality of her herbs.
Commonly found in classically french herb mixes like herbs de provence; marjoram, summer savory, oregano, thyme, lavender flowers, and rosemary, as well as a key flavor in a bouquet garni. Thyme is considered a woody aromatic and is best added in the early stages of the meal prep so as to give time for the flavors release into the dish.
Red Wagon Herbs are typically packed in cellophane bags, but occaissionally they are packaged in plastic clamshells. The plastic clamshells they use are made from 100% post consumer plastic made by Packaging 2.0, a company that donates a percentage of its proceeds every year to ocean clean up.

The Thyme has stayed fresh in my fridge for weeks! This is the difference between buying it from the farmer compared to buying it in a grocery store.
