Apple Ginger Chutney

Moksha Farm's chutneys are produced in small batches and combine traditional chutney recipes from India with Vermont-grown fruit. The warming taste of ginger and slight heat from cayenne pairs well with the sharpness of the vinegar and sweet Vermont apples. This chutney would be a delicious addition to a cheese platter or served alongside Dahl or stir fry.

This is a WONDERFUL chutney. It tastes brighter and fresher than the typical chutney. It also has a great balance of fruity, sweet, and salty. As a result of a recommendation for the egg rolls offered elsewhere on the site, we bought this to try with them. Even though the egg rolls are wonderful on their own (and even with a bit of soy sauce), this chutney is a great complement to them.

But I could see this being being served with latkes as well, or as a garnish to a number of dishes.

I served this alongside the cauliflower curry from the Moosewood cookbook and it was a fantastic combination! I will be using this chutney again, and often.

This is a really tasty chutney. Try it on a roast chicken sandwich and you won't be sorry. Also good on a cheese plate or a simple grilled cheese sandwich.
