Included this bread in my last order - OMG so delicious! A healthy "bread" choice that goes with so much - butter, peanut butter, cheese, avocado and humous. You can make it savory or a little sweet. Now on the permanent "order" list. Thanks FTU & Red Hen.

I love this bread. My husband and son won't touch it. (More for me ). If you think you'll like it you'll probably love it.

We ordered this bread for the first time last week and loved it! Definitely ordering again. A lot of good ideas of how to eat it in the previous reviews but honestly it's delicious just as it is! I sliced up and ate alongside vegetables and protein as a healthy grain with my meal. So so good!

This bread is fantastic. It's dense and satisfying and has a hint of sourdough flavor. It's really good just sliced with a little butter or yummy cheese. Very filling but not too heavy.

Amazing. Part of our weekly order now. Thinly sliced and lightly pan fried with a bit of olive oil transforms a slice into a crispy, chewy treat. Topped with avocado and crumbled hard boiled egg and a little Cholula-- breakfast of champions.

We love the Sprouternickel from Red Hen!! Particularly because it allows my partner, who is Danish, to maintain a staple of the healthy Scandinavian diet. Did you know that "sprouternickel" is what the Nordics call "rugbrød," which is a beloved favorite on which they put all sorts of things -- like herring, egg, vegetables, etc., like an open faced sandwich? Red Hen's rugbrød is so good that we have told our Danish friends, in the US but also in Denmark, about it. We're moving back to Copenhagen, and I really wish we could import it ;-)

Chewy, nutty, and dense, this super healthy bread is yummy thinly sliced, toasted, and spread with jam.

This reminds me of the bread my grandmother used to make. Am transported back to Denmark with every bite. Have been buying Mestemacher bread for years here in U.S. as a substitute for the Danish rye breads I grew up with. But this is so much better that I'm going to be buying this from now on instead. Fresher tasting and with a nicer firm crust. Perfect for open faced sandwiches or plain with Lurpak salted butter. Great for breakfast, lunch, or afternoon tea (serve with butter and preserves or jam). As kids we used to get this as a treat with Nutella (long before Nutella was available in the states). Be prepared for a very dense whole grain with some firm kernels. Should be sliced very thin, about 1/4".

This is a heavy, dense, seedy, sprouty bread. Solid and absolutely delicious if you like rye flavor and the nutty berry texture. I slice it thin and spread it thinly with either butter or cream cheese. Two slices look small but they're so dense they're a filling lunch. I cut the slices into quarters and butter them for guests--a simple, homely, but wonderful appetizer that my friends love.
