Kuenzi's Pick: Black Garlic

These may not be in your order each week, but they definitely should be! Kuenzi's got the inside scoop on staples that are not to be slept on.

Black Garlic from Pete’s Greens is the staple you didn’t know you needed. The dark cloves offer a unique umami flavor with hints of caramel, molasses and balsamic; a perfect balance between sweet and savory that can be used in so many ways. 

Wondering what to do with it? 

  • Warm a couple cloves in a pan with a dollop of butter and salt and smash into a toasty piece of baguette. 
  • Make a wine sauce using shallots, butter and herbs then serve over pasta.
  • Make a black garlic aioli to accompany your grilling line-up this summer.
