Savor Fall Foliage
November 5, 2021
Up here in Vermont, peak foliage has passed and is now giving way to stick season. While those of you in Boston may still have some color left in the canopy, the vibrant fall leaves are too beautiful to be kept outside. Stretch out New England’s most beautiful season just a little longer with these simple, DIY decorations.
Coated Leaves
While there are a few ways to preserve the color of fall leaves, coating them with Mod Podge may be the simplest. Glaze your leaves, let dry, then adorn your dining room table, kitchen counter, or mantle with them.
Leaf Bundle Bouquet
If you can find them, branches with the leaves still attached can transform into a stunning autumn bouquet. If the branch is fresh, use a spray finish or other coating to preserve the colors and keep the leaves from falling off. We recommend displaying in a metal vase or galvanized milk can.
Pressed Leaves
Create a one-of-a-kind collage for your wall by pressing a variety of leaves and displaying each in a separate frame.
