Steve and Loraine Lalonde of Tullochgorum Farm grow this wonderful white Organic popcorn. Their farm is located in Quebec Canada just over the border from Vermont. They have been growing this crop since 1997, and have become quite proficient at it.
It is great to have a healthy snack grown locally and with real care on a family farm.
Heat 3 Tablespoons of coconut or sunflower oil in a 3 quart or larger pot over medium-high heat with 3 corn kernels, covered.
When those kernels pop, add 1/3 cup popcorn kernels to pot. Gently shake and swirl the pot. You will hear them begin to pop. Continue to swirl the pot every minute or so until the popping declines to once every 3-4 seconds.
1/3 cup kernels yields about 2 quarts of popcorn.
Remove from heat.
Pour into a bowl and dress with your preferred toppings: butter, salt, maple syrup, nutritional yeast etc.
Keep in a sealed container until ready to use.
