The intricate flavors of basil are directly effected by the growing conditions and stage of harvest. Sweet basil has a strong aroma with notes of tarragon, clove and anise that vary depending on the time of harvest.

Fresh basil is most flavorful when eaten fresh in it's raw state. This basil is wonderful on Red Hen's Pizzaz (sprinkle on top once out of the oven for the best flavor), mixed into a salad or blend into a pesto with some olive oil, salt, cheese and nuts.
Store stems down in a cup of water on the counter.
