Sage is a member of the mint family, with an earthy, warming, pinelike aroma and flavor. The leaves are quite pungent raw, but mellow nicely when cooked.

A strong flavored herb, best enojyed when added towards the end cooking. Sage is known to help with digestion of oils and grease, so it's wonderful paired with a hearty dish. A common seasoning in pork sausage, poultry stuffing and gravy. For a lighter flavor, try sage tea, pour hot water over leaves and enjoy!
Best kept in the bag it comes in, or hung in the kitchen to dry and use any time.
