This pumpkin makes an outstanding pie, with the flesh of one pumpkin being the right amount for your pie recipe. For pie, cut in half and bake in the oven for about 45 minutes until flesh is tender. Scoop out and place flesh in a strainer and allow to drain for a few hours, this will give your pie an outstanding creaminess. Puree the pumkin before mixing in with the other pie filling ingredients. Pie pumpkin also makes an excellent soup.
