Unlike most tomatoes sold in supermarkets, these are grown in soil - and have outstanding flavor. Many "Organic" tomatoes are now grown hydroponically, which in the rest of the world is not allowed by organic certification. Hydroponic tomatoes are a good deal easier to grow and cheaper - but lack vitality and nutrition that only comes from soil.
Enjoy these beauties on their own, sliced for a pizza, or tossed with onion, oil and vinegar and added to a salad.
Tomatoes keep their flavor best when kept at room temperature.
