These eggs are laid by hens who spend their days digging and scratching out of doors where they get a very healthy diet of food scraps, bugs and barnyard bedding; basically the food hens were born to eat. Like other laying hens, they are fed grain to supplement their diet. We source these eggs from farms dedicated to feeding their animals grain that is free of GMOs.
GMO free grain is slightly more expensive than conventional grain, which is reflected in the price of the eggs.
Jericho Settlers Farm is located in Jericho Vermont. These are truly free range hens and the farm is a diverse vegetable and meat farm with greenhouse and field production on excellent Winooski river bottom soils. While the eggs are not organic, their farm is Certified Organic.
