  • 1 cup white wine
  • 2 quarts stock – chicken or vegetable
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon curry

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 5 tablespoons sugar (1 teaspoon for crust and balance to sprinkle on top of apples)
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter (6 for crust and 2, melted, to brush on apples)
  • 3 tablespoons +/- cold water
  • 2 – 2½ pounds firm and tart apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup sugar for glaze

Instructions
  1. Combine flour, 1 teaspoon of sugar and salt together in a mixing bowl.

  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced (use any fruit or berries)
  • 8 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup of half & half (or cream, milk, or a combination)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅔ cup flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • powdered sugar to sift over top before serving
