For our January Monthly Stock Up we’re featuring Miso and some fresh and nourishing ingredients that play well with this fermented soybean paste known for its umami flavor as well as it’s probiotic benefits. Excellent in sauces, marinades, dressings, on top of baked tofu, added to stir fries and, of course, a classic Miso Soup. The following are 10% off:

Fresh from our Farmers and Producers

VT 99 Meats, the collaboration between Pete’s Greens and the Cellars at Jasper Hill, bring us another tasty sausage. Their Mexican Chorizo is a loose ground sausage seasoned with chili powder, oregano, cumin, black pepper, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder. Cook up and enjoy with tortillas and cheese, for breakfast or for dinner!

Thanks to the ingenuity of greenhouses and dedicated growers, Long Wind Farm has ripe Cherry Tomatoes! Summertime flavors in the heart of winter, what a treat!

Bonnieview Farm has two different cheeses for us, both are made from a blend of unpasteurized sheep and cows milk:

  • Paisley Bluea tangy and wonderfully sharp blue cheese that is dry and crumbly in texture.
  • Patmos Peak- a semi-hard cheese that is buttery and mildly creamy.

VT 99 Bacon is back in stock! After a brief lull in production, this lightly sweet and salty, thick sliced bacon has returned.

Red’s Best Seafood brings fresh caught White Fish, Smelts (AKA the french fries of the sea!) as well as succulent Sea Scallops!

Strafford Organic Creamery has their Smooth Maple Ice Cream once again, as well as Ginger, Chocolate and Vanilla.

In addition to Champlain Orchards fine selection of Apples, Pears, Apple Butter and Apple Cider, their Applesauce and Apple Pies are back this week. Don’t forget a scoop of Strafford Ice Cream!

A note on egg supply: The Hens are noticing our shorter days.

As our daylight hours are shrinking, the laying hens wind down their egg production. We have had to limit our egg supply to ensure that we do not oversell! Due to our limited supply, we may have to clear eggs from recurring orders. Check your recurring order each week as you may have to add your eggs back into your order. Our apologies for any confusion, and we’ll try and source more eggs as soon as possible.

Don’t forget to check out our Weekly Menus.  These are pre-picked orders suited to different dietary preferences: Omnivore, Paleo, Vegetarian and Dairy Free, each accompanied with meal ideas.
