This Week’s Bounty: Cortland Apples, Bolted Flour, Apple Pie, Red Fish and more

This week we are featuring Champlain Orchards’ own Apple Pie, as well as all the essentials you will need to make one at home. Cortland Apples are one of the best cooking apples for pies as well as delicious to eat out of hand; a real old Vermont favorite! We are also featuring Rogers Farmstead’s Bolted Wheat Flour that makes the best pie crust you have ever tasted! Check out our Just In section to see all the other items on special and featured this week.  The bounty of fall is upon us!

It’s Pepper Season! Enjoy these late summer fruits fresh, roasted or sauteed:

In addition to all these peppers – we will have

  • Lunch Box Peppers – Dog River Farm – red, orange and yellow small sweet and perfect for snacking


  • Sweet Gypsy Peppers- Kingsbury Market Garden- red-orange tapered fruits with super sweet flesh.
  • Sweet Bell Peppers– River Berry Farm – a colorful medley of sweet bell peppers
  • Green Bell Peppers– River Berry Farm
  • Poblano Peppers– Pete’s Greens- dark green peppers are variable in heat. Considered a chile, these are the classic for chiles rellenos
  • Jalapeno Peppers– Dog River Farm- small green chile peppers for those who like to spice it up!

If you have not had a chance to try Kettlesong Farm’s Brussel Sprouts… well then you have not tasted fall yet!!

Red’s Best Seafood brings fresh caught Red Fish in addition to White Fish and Halibut.  Red Fish is on special this week.  Try this under appreciated fish that bakes up light and flaky.

Asian Pears are in from Champlain Orchards! These are sweet, juicy and almost taste tropical.

Red Wagon Plants has a cornucopia of fresh herbs this week with the addition of Rosemary and Chives.

Joe’s Soup at Screamin Ridge Farm has three tasty soups for us this week – Corn Chowder, Split Pea with Ham, and Ginger Lemon Chicken.
