Vermont Chevon sources goats from farmers who supply Vermont Creamery with goat milk. When the goats have passed their milking prime, they are processed for their meat. Goat meat is a flavorful, lean source of protein. Working with Vermont Smoke and Cure, they have created a delectable Merguez made with chevon, pork fat from Black River Meats, and a tasty combination of spices.

Goats are browse animals, more than grazers, meaning they happily eat brush and weeds as well as grass.
